the hair-thin line

religion is the truth's
distant great-grandnephew
66.6% dipped in facts
with well-established assumptions
like raisins
in between
how much trust should we have
in the absolute truths
of popes and priests
rabbis and mullahs
who are rewarded
by synagogues
churches and mosques
for differing quite specifically
from one another
exactly
where does the hair-thin line run
between
religion
and far-fetched
that you dare not cross
or you risk a fierce fate
what did the fathers really think
did they want us to be good
or did they want us to believe
the strongest faith
longs for belief as if it's true
admits by definition
it's possibly not
the word 'belief'
has a disclaimer built in
always a little nightlight
between belief
and the truth
we may as well stop
trying
to convince each other
rather respect
one another
enough
to be
able to differ
everyone came
on his own way to here
with indisputable facts
and irresistible dreams
immeasurable energies
all in between
why then then need
to save someone
from his own life
rather
go for a walk
outside
compliment thy neighbour
on his garden
because his tallest tales
are also
blessed
with their own
holy
beauties
besides
friendship
is a lot more sociable
than being right
alone
