the bibabble

look
god has funny ideas
about slavery
that is if you believe
the bible
is a hundred percent
correct
and a hundred percent
god's word
today good people know well
slavery is wrong
yet permissible
and so permitted
in supposedly the word of god
maybe somewhere in the translation
from god-thought
to man-printed book
something got lost
did
god really
mean it all
word for word
or did the writer
misunderstand
god
misword
is man's head
big enough
to get god's thinking
small enough
to spread
as written text
however it may be
in the word
the choicest cut
is granted to the slave owner
perhaps the writer
bent god's word a little
to justify owning slaves
is the "mistake" in god's word
then man's fault
or is it no mistake at all
did god find slavery good
but only back then
in biblical times
is god constant
always right
and rightly worded
and modern man oversensitive
to divine brutality
or does morality change
for god too
with the times
or is the bible
man's book
that writes god up
if so then
worth the question
is god
really
what
people say
he is
