extrapolated
out of the morning star
in a furious poem in isaiah 14
born of oppression
and exile
the poet wishes
for the oppressive
king of babylon
to be brought down
like the morning star
who is denied the dream
of reaching the highest heaven

today we do know

venus

is the morning star
and the evening star
a planet
closer than us
to the sun
reflecting the sun's light
to earth
near sunrise
or sunset
which soon enough
disappears

somehow you become

satan

and suddenly we're
warned about you
easily three times a day
to prod us towards god's
goodness
which makes me think
people are making
new religions again

or at least
knowledge of
satan

at the drop of a hat

in which book do we read
satan's will
or to what extent
can we trust the word
of a person who says
he talks to the devil?

relieve satan
of his post
and yourself
of your pain
let every person
answer for himself
for his own deeds
and make lucifer
once again
the bringer of light
as she was
long before man
knew of the devil
or of god
