the sikhs believe
we are one with god
but ego screws it up
by creating the illusion
of a dividing line

that separates us
from
god

the i
appears
out of the formless god
that is everything

as soon as the ego sees itself
as apart

the root of all god
and evil
grows out of the ego

for survival
ego is a good thing
your ego looks out for you
your ego wants to enrich you

if you want proof
look at yourself

subject
to an eternal thirst
has a driver
who will use every invitation
to be an emperor
to rule
as he pleases

even puts on an innocent face
plays dumb
knowingly
makes a greedy choice
to grab more
than his share
more than he needs
while ignoring the fact

everyone wins

everyone wins

he poisons his world
sours his own lot
and the lot
of everyone around him

consciousness lets
ego realise

the value of knowing

without a blindfold
and put its machinery
to work
building roads

with eyes open
towards the coming
future

to build
ego will use everything
in a fight for preservation

its brain
the body
even god
if it must

to satisfy
ego
excuse me

defend

because what is

god

other
than the collective
ego of a group
that congregates
to create
a concept

to increase
power
on earth

ego is in an eternal struggle
with love
arm-wrestling
love for neighbour
against
love for the i

the solution is

if we wanted to

love for all

or at least respect
worth
working for
worth
fighting for
to cast out
several
self-ish
loves
that overturn the peace
of the whole

the evolution of ego
still rooted
in the preservation of the i
longs for the power of the us
and the us that is
may extend
its tiny speck in time
if our idea of us
includes the earth too
our ego enlarged
then man is
bigger than man
more like god
which brings us back to the sikhs
if we can only forget ourselves
we become one
with god
